Drama therapy is used in schools, hospitals, prisons and businesses. It is therapy that studies patients behavior by â€‹creating theatrical performances with them.  It helps keep track of their mental health or illnesses. It is also good fun and helps people with long term illnesses have a good time.

What qualities do you need for the job? 

You will need to be able to work with other people and you need to have experience in drama or the performing arts. You will also need to be able to listen to other peoples ideas and help them to overcome their struggles. You need to be prepared as you will be working in different places such as home visits and prisons.

What to expect.

When you first start, you will work part time and build up to a full working week.
Expect to be working in hospitals, schools and prisons. 
You will be travelling locally.

Responsibilities. 

Drama therapists will be expected to organize performances and write progress reports. They also need to encourage self awareness and show positive ways to behave and think.

Drama therapists work a standard 37.5 hours a week including possible evening work.
